Inez Mabie Youth Scholarship Fund

The Inez Mabie Youth Scholarship Fund was created by a private donation of $100,000 to the PCCHA Youth Scholarship program.  These are non-competitive scholarship grants that are made available in amounts up to $2,000 each; total grant amounts awarded per year cannot exceed $10,000.     

Applications are now being accepted. Qualifying guidelines are as follows:
  1. Youth must be a current member of PCCHA.
  2. Youth must have earned a high school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Youth must be enrolled or will enroll in an accredited community college, 4-year institution, or trade school.
  4. Financial need will be taken into consideration.
  5. Youth will submit their Personal Statement outlining: your current, past and future involvement in the equine industry; and your career and educational goals and objectives. If applicable, please include the following:
    a. Involvement/time spent supporting PCCHA and/or PCCHA affiliate activities, such as helping to set-up/tear-down fundraisers, etc.
    b. Involvement in cutting at either the club, PCCHA or NCHA level.
    c. Financial need.
  6. Youth must attach a letter of recommendation from a non-family member involved in the cutting horse industry.
  7. Youth must have had a personal PCCHA youth membership, and/or their parent must have had a PCCHA membership for at least one year prior to graduation and/or or applying for scholarship.
  8. Residence within the PCCHA region, for at least 2-years, will be taken into consideration.
  9. Youth can apply for the Inez Mabie Scholarship once all PCCHA Youth Scholarship funds have been exhausted.
  10. Scholarship can be applied to certified Dual Enrollment Programs.
  11. Scholarship must be used by the age of 25; unused portion will be returned to the overall fund.
    Exceptions to the age limit will be considered if a student is pursing a degree after the age of 25.
  12. Applicants may apply for the Inez Mabie Scholarship annually.

All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of PCCHA.

For an application to be considered complete, the application must include:
A completed Application Form
A Personal Statement from the applicant
A Letter of Recommendation from a non-family member
Applicant’s most recent transcript, either from high school or college/trade school
And, complete application must be turned in by the deadline, August 1st of each year
