Inez Mabie Youth Scholarship Fund

The Inez Mabie Youth Scholarship Fund was created by a private donation of $100,000 to the PCCHA Youth Scholarship program. These are non-competition scholarship grants that are made available in amounts up to $2,000 each and up to $10,000 within one year.

Applications are now being accepted. Qualifying guidelines are as follows:
  1. Application must be made to the PCCHA office on an Inez Mabie Youth Scholarship Fund application
  2. The Youth Committee will screen the applications and present worthy and qualifying applicants to the PCCHA Youth Fund Inc, Board Members for approval.
  3. The criteria for qualifying is as follows:
    1. Youth must be a current member of the PCCHA in good standing at the time of application.
    2. Youth must be at least 17 years of age, and completed a high school education.
    3. Youth must be enrolled in an accredited junior college, university or trade school.
    4. Youth must demonstrate financial need for assistance for continued education.
    5. Youth must attach a letter outlining their past and present involvement in the cutting horse industry, career and education goals.
    6. Youth must also attach a letter from a “sponsor” described as follows: a non-family member who holds a respectable position in the cutting horse industry as a breeder, owner, competitor, trainer, or serves on the PCCHA Board of Directors or serves on a PCCHA committee. The letter from the sponsor must endorse the application as a worthy recipient and validate the accuracy of the application.
    7. Geographic location of student’s residence within the PCCHA region will be considered in selecting applicants, in order to serve the entire PCCHA region. Applicant must have established permanent residency within the PCCHA region (the nine Western United States) for at least two years prior to graduating from High School.
    8. Application can only be made after any other PCCHA Youth scholarship funds received have been exhausted. 
    9. Scholarship money must have intent of utilization by age twenty five. Any unused portion will be forfeited, and re-applied to the overall fund.
