PCCHA GELDING STAKES SALE AND QUALIFYING INFORMATION
|
- FOR 3 YEAR-OLD GELDINGS?
- 3 Year-Old Geldings sired by PCCHA Cutting Stakes Subscribed Stallions shown on cattle as they sell. Held during the PCCHA Derby Classic, Challenge in Paso Robles, California.
- FLAT FEE?
- You can make your gelding eligible for the Gelding Stakes by paying a flat fee. It costs $1500 If you pay it by October 1st of the gelding’s 2 year-old year. Or $2500 If you pay it by March 1 of the gelding’s 3 year-old year. Or you can make a gelding eligible after March 1st of their 3 year old year by paying $3500 before the Futurity.
- PAY THE FLAT FEE OR GO THROUGH THE SALE?
- You can pay the $2500 flat fee by March 1 or enter the sale. Geldings that sell in the sale or are bought back and are entered in the PCCHA Futurity are eligible for the PCCHA Gelding Stakes and for the new PCCHA Gelding Stakes Sale Purse and do not have to pay the flat fee!!
- PCCHA GELDING STAKES SALE PURSE - WHAT IS IT?
- $2000 added by Dave Hammond Auctions and 50% the net income from the Gelding Stakes Qualifying Sale will be made into the PCCHA Gelding Stakes Sale Incentive Purse. 50% of the Sale Incentive Purse will be paid to the highest advancing eligible 3 year-old in the PCCHA Open Futurity and 50% of the Sale Purse will be paid to the highest advancing 3 year-old in the PCCHA Non Pro Futurity . The PCCHA Board of Directors reserves the right to pay more places in each division if they choose to. A gelding must actually go through the sale (be present at the sale and be sold or bought back) to be eligible for the Sale Incentive Purse.
- PCCHA GELDING STAKES QUALIFYING SALE - WHAT DOES IT COST?
- The entry fee is $700. If you sell your gelding you will pay a commission of 10%. If you buy your gelding back you will pay 10% of the buy back price or $800 whichever is greater. So if your gelding sells for less than $18,000 and you buy him back it will cost less than the $2500 flat fee!!
- WHAT HAPPENS IF I SCRATCH FROM THE SALE?
- If you scratch your gelding from the sale and you provide a letter from a veterinarian that documents injury, lameness or sickness you can still make your gelding eligible for the Gelding Stakes but not for the Gelding Sale Incentive Purse. To do that you must pay the commission based on the average selling price of the PCCHA Gelding Stakes Qualifying Sale. Horses scratched from the sale without documentation from a veterinarian are subject to a $1000 scratch fee and will not be eligible for the Gelding Stakes or the Gelding Sale Incentive Purse. Horses scratched from the sale with documentation from a veterinarian do not pay a scratch fee.
